SDG Glasses

We discovered the idea for this amazing kids’ (or kid-at-heart) craft in a blog post on Our Global Classroom. We created a PDF from the image they provided, and invite you to download it, here.

The blog also suggested making short videos, wearing the glasses, and describing your vision for what 2030 could look like if we achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. If you do make a video, please let us know by posting on Facebook, or Twitter, using #PeaceDayton.

THE TRANSFORMATION DAYTON INITIATIVE

1. Plan a Peace Day event during September

2. Take concrete actions in your work for peace

3. Map your goals to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Transformation Dayton, Transformation Miami Valley. Transformation Xenia, Transformation Urbana, Transformation Springfield — all around our community, practical, sustainable peace-building is needed more than ever. This year in September, Peace Day events by the Peace Dayton Collaborative Group will be mapped to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals for Year 2030. A full-color, multipage “Report to the Community” along with a video and media campaign will culminate in extensive November publicity. With photos and stories, the “Report” will highlight each participating organization and your peace-building actions to support a Regional culture of peace. It will identify exemplary government officials and grassroots leaders that are making a difference. All efforts will be included on a new, dynamic WordPress website. And, as always, It all depends on you (i.e. meaning we, together!)
